Can I upload a project to Soundcloud in MP3 format without the needed product for purchase needed to regularly export a file from Sonar as an MP3?

Yes. You do not even need to use SONAR... you can simply upload an mp3 to Soundcloud via your account on their web page.

Thanks!
Yes, I can easily upload my mp3s from within Soundcloud to Soundcloud from anywhere I have access to the MP3 file, but I'm reading about the availability of Sonar to upload directly to Soundcloud from within Sonar. (Without having to export to another "project" folder first as I have always done, then do the conversion to MP3 then upload)This does appear to be pretty much still all happening within Soundcloud, but I am not at home to see for sure.
The file would (I assume) still need to be converted to MP3 format before uploading if the SoundcoudMP3 option is selected. I'm sorry, the issue here is file size, as we will be off site using a cellphone tether for Internet access so the data reduction with the MP3 option is what has our interest. I currently have not purchased the needed product to export from Sonar as an MP3 and use a third party product to do the conversion before uploading my Sonar exports to Soundcloud, as the WAV files take forever to "process". If the additional cakewalk product is not necessary this option will be a most welcome discovery! Thanks again so much!

MP3 'encoder', that's the word I was looking for. I don't need the MP3 'encoder' if I'm correct.

IIRC, the SONAR SoundCloud connection will upload to SoundCloud similar to their webpage. I do not think an export with the mp3 encoder is required. It has been a while since I used it though.

Soundcloud doesn't need an encoded mp3. They can take straight wav files.

Yep, and then they squish them into a medium bit-rate mp3. So imho it's best to use wav files rather than an mp3 since they'll re-encode it anyway, that is if you have the bandwidth.

Thanks guys,
I have uploaded WAV files before to Soundclound but two problems with this is ;
1) IME Soundcloud takes forever to uploade WAV files, (the guys I'm trying I get this to work for have NO patience a'tall).
2) Being done with a Cell phone tether for Internet access, Data consumption is indeed an issue, WAV files = big data file / MP3 = not so much.
....and please just trust me when I say that a simple third party converter isn't really an option.
