Has anyone noticed a smoother Sonar with this update? It seems to me that its performance is better.

13.7% better performance and 11.2% better sound!

Well, they have surely done something in the performance department in this Jamaican Plain update.
All I know is what I hear . . . I've been working on a project quite intensely for the last week, and like a fool I did the upgrade mid-project, only to be pleasantly surprised . . . as others have remarked here, the word "snappier" is best to describe it. The timing of playing back the project is undeniably tighter than what I heard before my upgrade.
This project is heavy on large Kontakt sample loads. The PDF eZine that Cakewalk have produced for this upgrade mentions "virtual instrument streaming" as a performance optimization, and I can immediately hear that difference.
Great work Cakewalk ! . . . keep 'em coming . . . my January membership renewal is now solidified.

Same with me John.  JP is quicker and very smooth, like Black Label.

I just did a master buss to track recording using patch points. This song was pretty much completed but I had not frozen anything or bounced any track.

Being the master buss its the entire mix. Nothing could be easier or simpler to do and I loose nothing in the doing.

I have a choice of muting all the other tracks to hear the mix or solo the single track. In this case I chose to solo the single track. It sounded the exact same as it did going out the master buss as a full mix with all the tracks playing back.

Though I never saw this as useful before I can see it now as a major improvement to Sonar. This means I'm indebted to all those that have been so vocal in pushing this feature all these years. I thank you.

I was thinking the exact same numbers!  (Most dentists agree on this.)
