Hello.....

Karl: In PRV, I tried extending/dragging the bass notes (from the original clip, as it was not getting copied) to the new clip, bounce clip to merge and so on, but it did not work - the new clip and extended bass notes (as separate new clip) just wont merge. I am not very sure but just get a feeling that snap settings might be playing role in here. And also, I am not able to select areas at will. If I select a part of a note, it just does not get highlighted/eligible for dragging/moving. I have to highlight the entire note. Yes, I am using the Smart Tool for selection.

Clint: Thanks for the info. Will try that out.

Dok Avalanche: I tried on Piano View, but does not seems to be working or may be I am missing out on something. It is much easier to edit on track view.

Kane

I'm still not sure that I understand exactly what you are trying to do but the settings for how copied notes etc are pasted can be found in the advanced paste options. Press Alt+Ctrl+V to access those and click the "advanced" button if it isn't already displaying the full options.

There you can set whether events are pasted into new clips or existing clips. Is that what you are looking for?

I think the partial selection of a note thing is as expected. It's the whole note or nothing. Whether the note is selected or not is dependent on how you are selecting. If you are dragging in the time ruler you need to include the start of the note for it to be selected. If in the PRV with right click lasso selection, any notes that are part touched by the lasso should select.

You can also ctrl click to toggle a notes selection. Shift + click adds to selected notes as long as they are in the same clip. If they are in different clips use ctrl+click to achieve the same. That may be why you are seeing what appears to be strange selection behaviour.
