Try.

1. Delete AUD.INI (google for details).
2. In Sonar preferences disable arm changes during record.

Thx.

Wow, OK, Now my space bar (stop) at the end of every track recording, MIDI, Analog, effects, no effects, prompts a crash, wait, not true, an "APP Hang"...... been going on since about 3am.  Maybe I'm just crazy, .....now I've recorded 20 tracks..(tried to record, er played...) with the same result, finish and press the space bar ..or.. use the Mouse and click stop, and voila! Sonar stops responding. Ya see, I keep doing the same thing over and over expecting different results... that's a sign of insanity right??   Stumbling out to the woods now........

I've updated to Win10 64bit to get the updated driver for the OctaCapture, everything was seemingly playing nice when (mid recording, not on a transport stop)...

Unlabored with only four tracks, 2 MIDI coupled with analog voices and two straight analog.
I dunno, ...obviously beating my head against a tree in the woods didn't help at all, ...maybe I'll go lay down...
I did the tune with 6 tracks in audacity just fine earlier Saturday, maybe that's the answer, but I will miss those wonderful toys!

Please check my last post. Do it again if you've updated to Windows 10.
Please post new errors from windows event viewer.

I notice you have SI in that screenshot, that would be my first suspicion other than drivers.
Also run the XLN installer and run updates.
I assume CCC is fully up to date.

Otherwise you might want to go the nuclear option, that is backing up, formatting the disk and performing a clean Windows 10 installation from installation media.

I am using window 8.1 with Sonar X3e, and the Octa-Capture with the latest drivers.
I use Sonar strictly for live performance playing back tracks. I am very suspicious of Oct-Capture. Some weird things are happening, such as the USB connection stops responding for no apparent reason. I'll have to reboot and then everything is fine for the rest of the show. This happens randomly.
I have a fast dual processor laptop computer with SSD drive 6 Gigs of ram. It's definitely fast enough, up to date with everything. All connections to Internet are disabled. Windows update is disabled as well as the windows virus protection program. Basically I have nothing running in the background. Sleep mode disabled etc.
Also I've tried to use the direct monitoring of one vocal channel, while playing back tracks, and it turned into a nightmare.
Just thought you should know.

P.S.
Have you tried this.

Octacapture problems come up time and again in these forums. It might be buggy as hell or it might be lots more Sonar users bought the interface because of the brand association.

Wow, don't see how I missed your post, I did delete the AUD.INI before, something CakeAlex got me into the habit of doing a few years back. I didn't do it with the new upgrade though. I did (had to) to and update of all the XLN stuff, Drums and Keys, and I also checked CCC for updates as well. I have since dumped the SI from my templets,(and the hanks continue) frankly the strings on my Fanthom are just as nice or better.  I'll give the AUD.INI rebuild another try. I think I'd rather go back in the woods and bang my head against a tree some more before the reformat and reinstall of everything. I know the DAW software is huge and consuming, I just thought it would be easier than this to get it to work.... Thanks again for your time and effort!
FWIW I hear a small static snap each time I hit the record key, not sure if that's incidental or coincidental, and also, I haven't noticed before, but the Place Marker for lack of a better term, doesn't follow the record line, it just stays at the 'home ' position, The triangular marker on the top timeline. Maybe its not supposed to, but I thought it used to..

I did the rename the AUD.INI, disable the allow change (already disabled), and reboot, (which I do more frequently than I would care to,..and where is the snappiness of win 10? I don't see it..) and things so far are indeed working better. I need to learn to pay better attention. I have a new grandbaby and so far have been able to complete 4 of his list of nursery music with no App hangs! Thanks a billion!
...and that tree in the woods is starting to regain some of its bark already...

I am glad it is working better. I catch this thread on my phone so can rarely type, but the thing that caught me is the "reformat/reinstall" comments. Please realize that those are extreme, last resort measures (and rarely help unless you are purging the registry and loading the machine differently). Do not make extra work unless forced to.

Plus it saves trees from excessive damage due to head banging!
