@Platinum Samples... Hi, Rail. I know this is probably not possible but I'm gonna ask anyway. I absolutely LOVE that Andy John's kit I snagged for Session Drummer and would like to know whether there is a way to toss it into BFD. If not I'll definitely be looking into snagging the BFD compatible version. Any other similar kits I should be looking at? Cheers.

Hi,

Sorry, the BFD format is completely different to SD3

Thanks

This is sounding a million times better with some mixer tweaking. The toms were way too loud in all the kits I tried so I pulled out the overheads for the dry toms and adjusted their levels. Reintroduced the overheads very slowly and did not like the results. So instead I dragged the individual tom levels down and turned up the overheads more. Perfect. This is very very cool software guys. Do yourself a favor and snag it while it's on sale. Also I can FINALLY get proper dynamics out of my padKontrol. This is the only program that I've been able to play without the fixed velocity button enabled. So cool and I am ever so happy. :-)

Thanks for the answer, Rail. I figured as much. Just thought I'd ask.

I wanted to ask, how is the midi browser part? Pretty much like addictive and EZ? Nice? You can add your own midi to the browser? Thanks

@tacman... I think you are referring to the option for searching for installed kits and presets. My apologies if I am mistaken. At the top right corner of the screen there are dropdown menus for "Preset", "Kit" and "Mixer". They seem to be working great. Click any one of those for a drop down, select what you want and it loads. However I am still only working with the installed BFD content so I haven't really gotten to the point of cruising around my system for other samples or settings. There is a demo of BFD on the FXpansion website if you want to check it out yourself. Seems to be working well for me. Cheers.

Alright, just played around for a while, checked out the EQ briefly, messed around with a bunch of the kits. Not much more to report. It's working as advertised and I'm happy. I'll update this after I get a chance to play around with the Rock Legends add on (which John already said sounds awesome so take his word for it or check out the demos) or when I figure out some new stuff but so far I like it. In this thread I've gone through the install, connecting to an interface, mapping to a MIDI controller and messed around with the mixer for a bit. That's on night two of playing with it as a beginner and taking time out to type this all up. Current opinion... this is an unbelievable software and even if it wasn't on special would be MORE than worth it. Cheers.

BFD Eco can play the included grooves or any BFD2 compatible grooves...  Eco does not support importing your own Grooves... That is available in BFD2 as well as a full Groove Editor.  You can drag any of the grooves in Eco onto a MIDI Track or to the desktop as /MID files (mapped per your current KeyMap) or use the included Drum Track in Eco to build your track, similar to EZPlayer.

I haven't heard of Platinum samples before, you make content for existing drum platforms?

The midi grooves you sell can't be put into eco?

But the drum kits can like legends?

BFD Eco can load all BFD2 content.. both grooves and samples...

So all our BFD2 compatible grooves and sample libraries work in BFD Eco.

Thanks to all !...Beepster and Rail especially, since I picked up the No Brainer Eco with the extra PS (which according Javier @ audioMIDI, show up on BFD account once you register it, then you get to download it there, ...I assume)and the Gen16 Zildjian library which is backordered and I really enjoyed reading that my estimated delivery is December 31, 1969 !!! Oh this is really classic drum sound at it's best ! HA!
Anyway, as I am just beginning to use Win7 64, my new laptop and X1d PE, I appreciate this entire thread (tho I might have to drink some coffee to re-read it all !!).
Rail....since it is suggested to not load Eco in a drive where steaming libraries are, which is next best ? C ? ,D with my audio-Sonar projects, or my external E which is where I plan to put the libraries (usb3 sata 1tb 7200rpm Seagate)?
Thanks again to all for this mini-series tutorial! Michael
