Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did search but couldn't see it. I currently own the entry level version of sonar x3 on steam. I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade from there to the most recent sonar?  Also, is the new 'sonar: steam edition' the same as sonar artist?

Thanks, just a bit confused :)

Hi. I believe that you can upgrade to any version (on STEAM and / or through CCC) from any version. Artist is the entry level version, then Professional and Platinum as the flagship version. The version that equals your current version is Artist.
Best of luck.

Ah ok, so I can go from x3 to the any one of the new sonar family, then once there can upgrade again to a fancier version if funds allow.
Also, if I go for the single time price rather than the subscription I get a year worth of updates as well as all the previous updates? If, after that year is up, there is an update that I like the look of I could start a subscription to get it?

Thanks again for your time!

There are two purchasing options:
1) a single up from payment or
2) 12 monthly payments (which must be made consecutively)
Both payment plans result in the same thing. A perpetual license for SONAR and 12 months of updates. The only difference is the perpetual license is issued immediately with the single payment plan and after 12 months with the monthly payment plan. There is no subscription option.
