Hi !!! Need a help with editing midi !!! During a playback? if pointer is set on the half of the note? this note is not played and sound comes out from the next note... How can i fix it ??? Because another editors play all of the notes, no matter where playback pointer is set (Acid, Reaper, e.t.c)

You can enable searchback for program changes and controllers, but not notes. If SONAR doesn't "see" the note-on, it won't play the note.

I think what Anderton is saying is that the note doesn't start exactly on the beat, but the snap-to is set for an exact beat, or measure, so the note-on event is before the place where the now line is.
Right-click the note in the staff view or Piano Roll view and see if it starts at something like measure 32, beat 4:942 instead of the first beat in the next measure, like measure 33, beat 1:000.

I think what Anderton is saying is that if there are any notes crossing the now pointer when you hit "play", Sonar will not do a search back to find and play the most recent note on events that correspond to those notes that cross the now pointer.  Sonar can be configured to do a search back on controller events, but not notes.

I'd certainly hope that such a feature would be entirely optional and disabled by default.

I can see where it might be convenient, but for the most part rewinding to a previous note could be quite an annoyance while editing. When I'm editing MIDI I'm very specific about where I place the Now line. I wouldn't want the DAW to be second-guessing me.

You're hired as my translator . When can you start?

I can imagine the potential for sonic chaos when filters & suchlike are opening/closing at the wrong times!

As Bit says, I would only want this as an option, easily disableable (great word!)

Anyways, its very problematic... in particular? when you have one long note and need to edit short notes that might be sound same time (in same midi track) ... Im checkin' forums? googling? but answer is - "no answer" or "impossible" ...
