On the blog, there's a post about how wonderful Win10 is. It refers to great improvements in WDM latency. PC Audio Labs tested it and got 3ms latency. They didn't specify, but I assume one way. I've also been reading here and there about the possibility of creating aggregate devices using WDM.
I'd like to be able to use both my Tascam US-16x08 and my M-Audio Fast Track Pro, which has a SPDIF in/out. This would allow me to bring my POD HD500X into Sonar without the extra AD/DA conversion of going into the Tascam via XLR, or maybe even just direct using the POD's own USB interface.
I'd just go ahead and try this myself, but I'm not letting Win10 anywhere near my music machine (it totalled my internet machine) until I have a real reason to risk it.
I'm currently running Win8.1 on that machine, and PC Audio Labs claims 4ms (one way) with WDM on that. All I get when I select WDM instead of ASIO in Audio recording and playback is noise, but Sonar is what they used in the tests, so there must be a way to make it work. I must be missing something.
Anyone know how to make this setup work? How to create the aggregate device?
