Hi everyone

Still using X2 Producer here...probably not going to upgrade until X4 comes out at this point, if at all.

Anyway, my latest project has a number of automation lanes on the main vocal track, and sometimes it reads, sometimes not.  Using Volume, and few parameters on Breverb 2.  Any ideas how to fix this?  I've never had this problem before, it's strange.  During mixdown, it doesn't read the automation either.

Thanks for any help

Just an update if anyone is wondering...I loaded the file in the trial X3 version.  I have 3 envelopes running to the Breverb in the ProChannel - one for the power, one for dry level and one for wet level.

It's still acting funny.  The first time, the power turned on, but the wet/dry sliders didn't move.  The next time, nothing happened at all.

And yes, the "R" read in enabled on the track.

Is there something I'm overlooking here?  How come some envelopes are working and some are not?

Would like to try and reproduce. Are you using the ProChannel Breverb or FX bin version?

I've tried both, got the same strange results - sometimes it works, most times not.

Here's what it looks like - the grey env is the Breverb power, the purple is the wet level, and the green is the dry level.

I ask because I tried to automate the ProChannel Breverb power button last night. Worked perfectly on playback, every time, but didn't register with a bounce. I need to investigate further to see whether the issues are unique to Breverb or other situations. By and large, automation has been very reliable for me, and I've done some pretty "out there" automation.

Yeah, me too, maybe not so much "out there" but at least for volume, filter sweeps, that sort of thing.  All worked perfectly until this one.  I'm just sure if it's a Breverb thing or a glitch with Sonar X2, or what.

FWIW, I just did a workaround by splitting the clip, fx on the clip, then cross-fade, but it's more flexible with the envelopes.

I ran a re-install of X2 the other day (for various other reasons too) and it still behaved strangely.

Thanks for looking into it, Craig.

As far as the ProChannel, this thread may help http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2743458 see Noel's comment in #5. A quick test in X3e would indicate it has yet to be addressed.

Really?  I'm pretty sure I've automated the EQ before, whether is PC is visible or not.

edit: And also,  I had the same problem with Breverb in the FX bin.

I have not tried it just linked to one of the posts where Noel replies. The EQ is a special case. Having an EQ on each track predates the PC and there is special code to handle it. This may be the reason.

Yeah, that makes sense.
