  • Platinum or Professional as an upgrade from X3?

I currently have X3 with the upgraded version of Melodyne.

It looks like a lot of the "extras" in Platinum, I got from X3.....(although the extra 3 ADpaks in Platinum are a nice plus to go along with what I have already)

Just wondering if I'm going from a producer version of X3.....does going to Platinum make sense?  Especially since the maintenance program in Professinal after the first year is about half the price of Platinum....

There is the drum replacer...but I'm not recording with live drums (at least currently), and the vocal sync....

Anyway....I guess the question....Professional, or Platinum from X3 Producer?

Thanks for any replies...

I went from X3 Producer to Platinum. At the time, the AD goodies made Platinum a no brainer decision in my case. It is absolutely worth the price of admission. I have no regrets, I would do the same today all things considered.

edit: I had Melodyne Editor as well when I upgraded to Platinum.

Hi. I went for Platinum from X3, because I wanted all the bells and whistles. Can recommend it wholeheartedly
All the best.

If you want the AD2 paks get Platinum. When the year is up, if the Platinum renewal does not offer enough value, switch to Professional.

I went from X3 Producer to Platinum and it was the way to go for me.  It probably just depends on what you are looking for.  I did hold off on it until it was on sale.

Thanks for the replies.....Scook...that's actually a good idea...I believe I'll go that route.

There should be a new update released soon, correct?  It looks like Ipswitch was in September....  Do they usually get released around the same time every month?

I opted for professional. I have a lot of drums(SD2, slate, BFD3) so one kit was fine with me. The only regret is the eq flyout. But i am trying to reduce the number of plugins , so no biggie. Really, it is a lot like X3, so I didn't want to spend a lot on upgrading. The real reason for me was future windows 10 compatibility. Not really seeing the value of windows 10 right now either.
