I take back my initial fear,and scepticism.
Like lots of umm people I'm can become fearful of change,and I do react far too quick[it was all that motocross racing waiting for the gate to drop,perhaps?].
Today after experimenting,I happened upon a project I thought I had lost,and for that alone,yep I'm tail between,saying the new start is looking better and better.

Choose File > New when SONAR opens, and you'll get something that IMHO is better than the old Quick Start.

Hmm. I'd say more it takes you to a version of what "New Project" used to go to from the old quick start. And it is a better version of that part of the flow. But it only covers that one bit.
 
A moot point, though, given that we now know all this stuff is being worked on.
