I guess what y'all are saying is: No Platinum updates necessary. I also mainly use the same plug-ins over & over, and there are lots of Platinum updates that include things I don't really need. But still, it's great to look forward to new updates once a month to see what they've come up with.

Additional content included in the monthly updates is different thing than program core development. I love to see SONAR getting better and better but most of the content is targeted for other user types than me.

Add me to the Caveman list! However, I would suggest (if you have the time) to read over "What's New" in Sonar and just experiment with it. I call that lab work and I usually do this at least once a week for an hour or two. Sometimes you can really add new things to your old work-flow...other times, it's best to stick with what you know. I'd rather have the new stuff as well as the option to work the way I know how. :)

I don't think any one user uses all the features in Sonar. Its a great testament that so many can use Sonar for their particular style or type of work.

At one point I thought a user is going to be in trouble trying to learn Sonar being as deep and capable as it is. I don't hold that view anymore. One reason is the Skylight GUI. It allows CW to add features without interfering with its most important functions. Another is take it one feature at a time. No one needs to learn them all in one day.

I like Danny's way of doing things. Of course one has to remember a feature exists before one can explore it. I have on occasion forgotten all about a feature. LOL But I'm getting old.   Which is a good thing when one considers the alternative!

While I certainly don't use every feature when a new one comes out I still want to get at least a cursory familiarity with it. I might not need or want a feature today but you never know.

Example. I didn't know I wanted Mix Recall. I new I wanted a way to more easily explore different versions of the same piece of music but I wasn't sure how that may be accomplished. Then along comes Mix Recall and bam, that's what I've been wanting all along.

That's just one feature - as more features are added we'll either modify our work habits to incorporate them or not. Either way I look forward to exploring each new feature as the bakers present them to us.

This is great advice. I routinely use a very small subset of SONAR but like to know what is available and how it works. The "What's New" section is very useful.

Same here...I don't consider myself to use many features, but do accidentally stumble upon some things that are cool that I was totally unaware of.  Like track colors...found that totally by accident yesterday and love it.
