  • SOLVED I can't activate my CD Architect 5.2 on new PC

After reading (here) that Sound Forge 8 is working for some of you, on Windows 10 (64bit) I decided to install it, along with CD Architect 5.2 and NR 2.0    No problem with SF8, nor NR 2.0
 
I keep getting some kind of error when I try to activate (upon opening it) CD Arch. It is registered at both Sony and Magix BTW
I'm trying to paste the 29 digit activation code, and that's where I'm getting the error.

Oh oh oh...it's Magix...you know.
 
But on serious note, I think it's something to do with the new owners. I would hassle those crafty germans if I were you.

Make sure you are running it as "Administrator".  Sometimes that
will keep things from registering properly...just a thought

Ha! If no other option appears.....
I'm more of a path of least resistance person. I think it may have to do with Sony (or Magix, too?) using 20 digits though there are 29. Like in my Quick Start Manual only 20 of the 29 (so where did I get them? LOL) appear as my serial number.
and then there's the "this was way back!" aspect! LOL

I read something on the Acidplanet forum the other day which is why I suggested he may have to do this.

I've got Acid Pro 3, too, from "back in the day" when I got a PC and Pro Audio 9, but don't see any point in that, anymore.

I just tried to activate it again and now can't   "my trial has expired". Crap!
Looks like I'll be writing to Magix in the morning.

This happened to me, too, after my hard drive crashed last year.  I emailed Magix, and they responded with a new code within a few weeks.  All has been good since.

I had a similar problem here a while back Michael I emailed their support not the quickest of replies but they did resolve the issue.
