  • Intermittent Platinum issue with NI Maschine

Oddly, about 90% of the time when I run Platinum with Maschine I have a problem. It works fine with X3 though. The problem is this, weather it be a new project or an existing one with Maschine, as soon as I press play, I hear a slight tone and then no sound is generated by Maschine. I close Platinum, reboot over and over until it works. I get no crash or errors, just a quick low tone and then no sound. I still can move items around and make edits but get nothing out of Maschine. All drivers are current and the preference settings are the same for X3 and Platinum. Any thoughts on this intermittent issue?

Thanks

Joe

Native Instruments says they are working on it for the next release.  but it has sucked since 2.3 has been out

Wetdentist,

Thanks.  I think we might be talking about a different issue.  I am familiar with the crash with the 2.3 update.  That happens when I close one project that used Maschine and re-open another and happens 100% of the time.  The issue I described above is different and is intermittent.  Unless, you are aware of others that have experienced what I described.

Thanks

Is this a new project?
Can you nail it down to specific plugins in Maschine project?
I understand you are on latest drivers however check (forgive me for saying what you've probably already done):
You are on Maschine latest firmware (and drivers).
Same with audio interface.
Try a motherboard BIOS upgrade.
GOTO intel driver update site.
Uninstall/reinstall Maschine with the controller off.
Attempt a Sonar VST reset. Then rescan

I assume you don't have issue with maschine standalone?

Doktor,

Let me try to answer your questions....

Is this a new project?
The problem is with an existing track just recently written in Platinum with Maschine 2.3. I started several over projects tonight and did not experience the same error. Hmmmm

Can you nail it down to specific plugins in Maschine project?
Plugins within Maschine? The only thing loaded in Maschine when getting this error is simple a drum kit.

Yes

Same with audio interface.
My audio interface is an Echo Layla 24 which is dated now but has the most recent drivers. This has always been a great sound card and has never caused me problems before.

Try a motherboard BIOS upgrade.
I did this tonight so it's current. However, no improvement :(

GOTO intel driver update site.
I don't really know what you mean here,

Uninstall/reinstall Maschine with the controller off.
I did this.

Attempt a Sonar VST reset. Then rescan
I did this as well

I assume you don't have issue with maschine standalone?
I had no issues in stand alone mode.

I called Cakewalk tech support today and the rep said Platinum and Maschine just aren't working well together right now but did acknowledge these known issues are on maschine's end.

Thanks for your help!

There is an issue but this is not a known issue as far as I'm aware. I think Cakewalk are thinking of the crash problem.

Just google 'intel driver update' and you should be able to take it from there... Cheers..

Yea, I kept telling the guy that the issue I was having is different than the known issue everyone is talking about.  I think he was of the mindset that Sonar and Maschine were just not working well right now and considered my issue under that umbrella.   I sent him the minidump files and my system info file.

I hope I can get some resolution soon.

Thanks!
