FWIW you can purchase QuickTime Pro from Apple for about $20 and then use it to convert .MOV files to AVI, MPEG, or whatever. I've done it and it works. Until Apple releases a 64-bit SDK for QuickTime for Windows then that's really the best you can do.

(OT Post)

For those of you who are frustrated with Apple - watch the latest South Park :) It definitely eased my frustrations a bit

CW said it is Apple's responsibility to come up with a 64 bit codec.

@Wynnsong - Whats wrong with Sony Vegas?  I was considering purchasing that next for converting videos and chopping them up in smaller pieces to work with.  Now you have me worried

Be careful!  The problem is in Quicktime's yard.  Quicktime has a known bug, so in order to have Vegas do quicktime, you need to downgrade your quicktime to 7.62.  This means you can't use iTunes on your computer.

I have vegas 8, and tried the demos of  vegas 9 and 10 without success in QT conversion.

I don't know if this would help or is even possible, but just an idea that came to me while reading this thread. What about rewiring something like Reaper to Sonar, using Reaper for video and Sonar for everything else.

Would work 32-bit, but there is no 64-bit Rewire library (remind you of anything?) so couldn't be done with with 64-bit Sonar.

Good point. ;___; I suppose we will have to wait a couple of years for everything to catch up.

OT: I just noticed your signature. What vocaloid software do you use?

.

Any updates here?

Anyone scoring in X1 with QT 64-bit files?

I'm assuming Apple still has not released their 64-bit codec...

BTW - Seth, I tried all that, and it works fine in 8.5.3 32-bit, but does NOT work well in 8.5.3 64-bit - at ALL.

Maybe something has changed?

Perhaps X1 is somehow better at handling more codecs?

I have Vegas 10 Pro no probs convering anything to anything here. Also use Adobe Premiere CS5.5

I also use a free program called Super. Which converts just about anything to any format you like. It's one of the most comprehensive audio and video file conversion programs I've ever seen. http://www.erightsoft.com/S6Kg1.html

When you're getting to the download page just ignore all the ads for AVS VIDEO as it isn't free.

I use a free video converter and swap all QT movies to WMV...import into Sonar 64 bit off I go.  I use Vegas for chopping up video if needed.  Apple disappoints me with the 64 bit subject or lack there of.

As far as codecs (this has been discussed in several threads) the only one which works for my on a regular basis in WMV.
