OK! I just need someone to tell me step by step how to do this! I read the ezine and still get no results! Please explain it to me as simply as possible. I've had a long morning and my concentration level is shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Andrew! You guys must look like the little squirrels in my backyard scurrying around! There has always been great support for me at Cake but WOW!

Thanks! Dan Gonzalez worked on them. It was actually in the works and the timing was good.

What happens once the "real time" audio is recorded?
Does SONAR use the audio and ignore the MIDI? Is it like a "real time freeze"?

Do you have to delete the audio clip in order for edits to the MIDI track to be respected?
What if you delete a portion of the real-time-recorded audio track?

I could probably answer these questions by trial-and-error but I'm curious as to what the 'intent' is.

The audio is simply audio - nothing more complicated than that.

Not really no. If you have Input Echo enabled you'll hear both the synth and the audio that's on the track. To hear audio only hold CTRL and Mute the MIDI track that is feeding your synth.

Is it like a "real time freeze"?

Naw it's like Synth Recording!!!

Not at all, you can simply record another take and SONAR will store these in Take Lanes.

Then you've deleted audio from a track - just like any other audio track.

Then intent is to allow you to capture your audio in real-time either during a performance or afterwards when you've made a bunch of edits to your MIDI and added long delays and reverbs. What's great about Synth Recording is that you have full control over these aspects of SONAR. They never existed before.

Might want to mention for those of us that really have not used Simple Instruments that you have to use the Synth Rack to load sounds in to whatever synth you inserted! My problem was I forgot you have to use Synth Rack to choose your patch! I couldn't get it to work by manually inserting the Audio and Midi tracks as usual. You have to use Simple Instrument and split the track as the video shows. Thanks, guys!

Not true. In post #2 above, no SIT was created, just inserted the synth with an audio and MIDI track.
