I'm trying to get EZDrummer 2 set up as a VSTi in Sonar Artist. The install went fine, and everything actually functions and sounds fine except that the volume indicators next to each track in EZDrummer's mixer are constantly flashing on and off quickly:

Which makes the mixer difficult to use.  The standalone version doesn't have this problem:

I tried Toontrack support and they were no help. Any ideas what might be causing this?

It's cause by the MIDI in the song creator running
volume through those tracks.  Normal behavior.

Notice the tempo change of the "Flashing" from the top
one to the bottom one.  It "audio" being created by the MIDI
in the Song Creator playing.

Use the EXACT SAME MIDI in the Host and standalone version
and note if there is a difference...

In the example provided there are two different MIDI Patterns
and apparently different lengths in between hits (not tempo-which I see is 120 for both)

Thanks, cclarry. For clarity, here is the VST vs standalone using the same MIDI clips:

Standalone:

So I'm not sure if you are saying that this is something I can fix. So can I not run volume through those tracks? Thanks for any help understanding this.

If this helps any, there seems to be an echo of whatever is happening here. You can see the effect continue after I hit stop:

That's interesting...seems like "Feedback" of some sort...

Are you using an ASIO driver?

Hm. There's a possibility I installed an ASIO driver for my Scarlett 2i2 audio interface, but I can't locate it.

Edit: checked my device manager. No ASIO drivers that I can find.

You need to go to Focusrite and download the drivers for the 2i2
THOSE will solve your problem.  Chances are you using Windows driver,
(WMD - Windows Media Driver) which is very bad, and will cause the kind of problem you
are experiencing.

Did switching drivers solve the problem?
