I've been a Cakewalk/Sonar user for 15 years.
 
I'm with the modern ProgRock band Circuline.

We're writing/recording our second album now, 
and I'm interested in recording and "Pre-Mixing" our album
in Sonar, and sending the Sonar Project Files out to an engineer
to help us finish mixing the record.  
 
Is there anyone out there who has experience mixing progressive
rock bands, who would be interested in this?

Your method of looking for a engineer is not exactly the best way to go about it. 
Finding an engineer is a matter of really liking what they have done with similar music to what your band plays. 
Their must be other bands in New York...,,, any how ask them who did their albums. I'm not talking big studios either. There is some excellent talent working in small home studios and I would imagine your in the thick of things where you live. 
And whether they use Sonar for the final mix is irrelevant. You can port over to any DAW these day's. 
It would make sense to find this person before you even start so they can be in on how it goes together. 
There could be someone here but seeing how your in the biggest market in the world, I'd be asking around you local musicians and browsing local music publications and web sites for small studio adds. 

I do write in a few different styles. Mostly rock / metal.  I play drums in a blues / rock band, guitar in a future - pop band, and "do it all" on my own projects (except drums, they are programmed. Do not have the space at home). It is always nice to meet like minded people.

I went looking to hear examples of your band's first album to get an idea where you guys are style wise (and recorded tracks wise).  It might have been on your website but all i found were some YOUTUBE videos (by the way, LIVE TARKUS was awesome).
