Thanks for fixing the Arpeggiator bounce issue.

I do wish you would also fix CWBRN-34951 which you can read about in this thread: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Automating-arpeggiator-onoff-still-broken-also-bounce-arpeggiator-to-clip-not-accurate-m2855135.aspx

Product SONAR Platinum/Producer
Version 21.6.00
Summary: Bounce to clip with automated arpeggiator settings doesn't work
Repro Steps
  1. Create new empty project (no tracks)
  2. Add MIDI track
  3. In pinao roll view create one long note, doesn't matter what note value. Say C3
  4. Expose the track Arpeggiator controls and enable it with the default settings (no need to pick a preset even)
  5. If you right click your MIDI clip and pick Bounce To Clip you will get the one long note turned into the arp sequence.
  6. Instead add a clip automation Arpeggiator for the rate parameter and then animate the rate up and down along the length of your very long note.
  7. Now right click and bounce to clip.
Expected Results: The MIDI that results after the bounce to clip should show the note lengths changing with the animated arp rate.
Actual Results: MIDI notes are all constant length and there is no rate change in the bounced MIDI. Sonar ignores the changing parameter and gives the exact same result as the non-animated bounce to clip in step 5.

Well at least we've now got a CWBRN. I've updated the thread. (Not a regression issue with release but sure needs to be fixed).

Does this fix  reset all my startup settings in Sonar  like a full version update?  And why is it you guys cannot do an update without it causing the resetting of things like this? Just curious

I have never encountered my startup settings being wiped out under any of the SPlat updates...you are blowing smoke from where I sit.

Such a nice fella....well pal you better start smoking! I have the normal template (set with all my settings-tracks view options, midi options bus settings etc etc) to load at boot. The Load Normal Template switch is ticked, and the Startup Screen is disabled. However whenever an update is installed, it all goes back to loading the start screen and some "default" template. Now, I have my  normal.cwt saved, however each update I then have to over-write the "default" template each time an update is done. Because the normal no longer applies in Splat.

Rename your template, then:

In other words the Default cwt seems to be replacing the Normal cwt and is the one referenced when  one selects on startup use the normal template.

And these templates seem to get overwritten for each update...

I read your thread and perhaps I'm not understanding you. You might be better off writing steps to repro. Anyway what are you ultimately trying to achieve?

It looks like when you create a new project you are wanting to load a custom template by default. If so rename the template and set that as default.

If the wrong template is being loaded by default select the correct template and then press the 'set as default template' button.

If you are using template filenames that Sonar uses the chances are it will be overwritten, so obviously don't use the template filenames Sonar uses!

Or am I misunderstanding?

Hmm. I've got a standard template I use, and have used for about three years now. I tweak it occasionally, but it's been fundamentally the same since at least X2 and maybe before. And it's saved as "normal.cwt". I can't recall new versions or updates ever having changed it.

I'm not suggesting the problem is imaginary, though. More that there must be something about your individual setup that's making this happen. It's certainly not something Sonar updates do to everyone.

Yeah you have it pretty much...I think I will do that...stop using the Cakewalk templates (including overwriting them) although the "Set as Default Template" button, where is that? I have only ever use the "On Startup Use the Default Template" which prior to splat was the normal template. btw my error -  it is the BASIC template splat auto loads, and the one I overwrite with mine.

Either way with the new functionality (set as default template button) I would take full advantage of it. I would create use your own template filenames and not use cakewalk template filenames. Accident waiting to happen otherwise.. Cheers..
