Has anyone successfully connected Autotheory with any Sonar X series or Platinum? If so, I'd love to learn how!

Thanks in advance!

I recently tried out a demo version of Autotheory. I had no trouble getting it to work with X3 Producer.

Go to Edit-Preferences, then select MIDI-Devices. You should see Autotheory listed in both your MIDI inputs and outputs. Under inputs, uncheck your MIDI device (e.g., keyboard), and then check Autotheory. Now your MIDI routing will be from your MIDI device to Autotheory to Sonar. (Don't mess with the outputs.)

When you create a MIDI track, you should now be able to select Autotheory as the track input. Route the track output to whatever synth you want.

That's how it worked for me...

Hi Tree Fight. Good to see you back.

Thanks Eric, I will give it another try! And hello John, always good to hear from you.

Ok, more weirdness. In both X3 and Platinum, if I open Autotheory before Sonar, Sonar won't detect my AUDIO drivers! If I close out both Sonar and AT, then reopen Sonar, Sonar does detect my audio driver (Aurora Lynx).

But if I open AT after Sonar, Sonar doesn't detect AT as a MIDI device!

I've tested this repeatedly with the same results.

Eric, if you don't mind, would you walk me through the sequence steps you used?

This is particularly weird since yesterday at least Sonar recognized AT!

Ok, now I tried opening AT, making sure the controller was checked, closed out of AT, opened Sonar, and it DID, this time, recognize the audio driver. Also, AT now shows up in devices!

I next reopened AT, made sure AT was receiving the MIDI signals, and pulled up Dimension Pro and set the MIDI input to AT. I loaded a preset and the MIDI data from my controller was detected, both in AT and the DP input.

However, I'm getting no sound. Could this be a Sonar issue - sometimes this happens without AT, and I forget the fix (for the no audio issue, despite proper routing)?

Maybe the "Share Drivers With Other Programs" is enabled in SONAR Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording. This causes SONAR to give up the audio driver and go silent when focus is lost.

Thanks, I'll check that. Also, in the MIDI in choices in AT, besides my controller, should I check the AT boxes? Actually weird they are there since you're not supposed to send MIDI data back to AT (?)

No go, I'll try to figure it out with Mozaic. Thanks for the help.
