How long does it take for the expensive sound cards to come in USB 3.1? Maybe we will have a future where UA and such is just as much for Windows than Macs.

USB 3 has been widely available since 2010, 5 years ago.  In the computer industry, that's "very mature."

It would seem that if the audio interface industry were to want to jump on the USB 3 bandwagon, we'd have already seen some long before now.

USB 3.1 is different from USB 3.
Much faster, new reversible connector, etc.

Correct and how many USB3 interfaces and instruments do you see? Even most of the new ones are still using 2.0. It will be a while before they adopt a new USB standard, me thinks.

There will apparently be no Thunderbolt port on the new MBP in favour of USB-C.

That was the whole point of my first post. The new MacBook comes with just a USB 3.1. No Thunderbolt or FireWire. Just this one little USB 3.1 C plug.

Sadly, in the connection department, the Music Industry is veeeerrryyy slooooooow
to adapt...

You'd think that they would be "jumping on the bandwagon" and taking advantage
of new tech...but they aren't.   They just simply "wait"...

Even the number of Thunderbolt Interfaces is "slow" in creeping up...

Not always a bad thing though. It doesn't pay to jump into new technologies, especially when they aren't needed. For the most part, USB2.0 does the job swimmingly.
