Not at all.

The single port MacBook (simply called MacBook) is a new option, an entirely new product, which places the focus on portability and compact design.
 
MacBook Pros come in a variety of configurations but usually comprise 2 USB 3 ports and 1 thunderbolt (1 or 2) port. MacBook Air also come with 2 USB ports and 1 Thunderbolt port.
 
Clearly, musicians aren't the target audience for that new MacBook, but it has its use I would guess.
 
At any rate, my experience is that if you have to use a laptop as a DAW, you'll probably want a hub at one point - between the audio interface, the dongles, midi controllers, external HDs and all, you'll run out of ports one way or another. 
 
 

Thats true Rain. You have to have a mouse at last, to do editing. But the whole industry is in live with apple one way or another. And Apple has a big influence on the audio card marked. A friend of mine is using a MacBook pro in his home studio. He has a UA card so the Mac is more than good enough. And those IA cards are all just thunderbolt. I just wish that they would make them with USB 3 too. Why USB 3? It has more power and more bandwidth so that is is more stable for music. And now they may see that they have to. Just because of this new MBP.

Thunderbolt provides access to the PCIe bus.
That's all...
 
For audio interfaces, unless you're running 48+ channels of I/O at high sample-rates, USB2 has plenty of bandwidth.
If you're nowhere close to saturating the bandwidth of USB2, the additional bandwidth of USB3 (or Thunderbolt) won't buy you additional performance.

to adapt...

You'd think that they would be "jumping on the bandwagon" and taking advantage
of new tech...but they aren't.   They just simply "wait"...

Even the number of Thunderbolt Interfaces is "slow" in creeping up...

Though it's annoying to us as end-users, it doesn't make good business sense to jump early... when the technology may or may not become a standard.  The potential for loss is much greater than the potential for profit.
 
Thunderbolt (for Tower/Rack PC users) doesn't bring anything new to the table.
It's a means to access the PCIe bus.
PCIe slots have worked well for a good while...   
The technology is robust/mature/inexpensive (by comparison)
 
IMO, Apple's new "Cylinder" Mac Pro units (which have no PCIe slots) were a bit premature.
Without Thunderbolt, they offer no access to the PCIe bus.
It's "forced obsolescence" kinda jammed down the end-user's throat.
