I just bought a Korg NanoKontrol2.
The primary reason I got it was that my midi keyboard does not have any knobs on it. I looked into getting a new keyboard, but decided to go with this instead. The added function of the faders is nice, but I really wanted the knobs to control parameters of effects so I could record in real time rather than setting up an automation lane and such...
I was able to follow the instructions to set it up to work as it was probably intended - with the faders assigned to each track and the knobs above the faders controlling the "pan". However, I can't seem to "unlearn" the pan function and assign it to something else.
When I use the "midi learn" within an effect or "Remote Control" on an automation lane, two problems happen: 1. It is still changing the pan, so it hasn't unlearned that and 2. Turning of the knob isn't a smooth motion, it pretty much jumps from off to about 12:00 to fully on.
The Pan function does turn smoothly - so I know the knobs work...
When setting it up per the directions that came in the box, it tells me to set it "Mackie Control" in the preferences->control surfaces section.
I would like the faders to be assigned to the faders of the first 8 tracks. All the buttons (record, play, etc.) to also work as intended. Pan knobs need to be modified to not be assigned to anything and then I can "learn" them to needed effects - and have their motion be smooth.
Any help with this would be appreciated... Thanks!
