Hi Sonar friends,
There is a Sonar Platinum offer right now for a limited time discount price but I am not sure if it will take it or not.
 
First problem I have is due to HD space. I am running Win 7 64 in a 127 Gb SSD drive and its almost full! If I download a free Platinum 90 days demo do I have to install it on the same C: folder that I have the X3 Producer version? If so I have no more space.
 
The functions I would like to have some improvements made are related to Staff Sheet and Copy/Paste in MIDI tracks.
 
My projects are 100% based on VSTi instruments and maybe changing to Platinum won`t bring me anything new to my projects.
 
Are there many improvements in those fields I have written above?

Hi Carlo,
I had the same issue.  Was using X3 and Sonar Platinum was just around the corner.  I only had a 128GB SSD for my C drive, but had a raptor drive that I was using to house all of the folders for Sonar. 
So, I transferred my C drive to a new SSD (500 GB) and got Sonar Platinum.  Just for the record, it was worth it.
 
I too write most of my projects with VSTs and SP has more to offer here as well. 
The PRV and midi have been revised (somewhat) leaning towards improved workflow.  You might want to take a long look there. 
Of course, if what you have works just fine, don't break it by any means.
Just know that the leap into the next version isn't so painful overall.

I am thinking of deleting everything and start it from the beginning, but I am too busy and too lazy at the moment. The best thing I can do now is to download a platinum demo version on my laptop pc.

I understand not wanting to start all the way back at the beginning (I didn't).  One thing I CAN say was that the SSD integration program that came with my intel was magnificent at transferring all my files quickly and easily.  There were a few "bumps", like some of the plug ins had to be reset, but overall it was a relatively easy process.

I just did the upgrade from X3 to Platinum yesterday (September 16, 2015).  I have a SSD as the main drive and I can't say I saw any severe loss in space with the upgrade.  I do, however, keep older projects on the "D" drive which is a 2 Terabyte eSata.  I also delete the older Melodyne separation files but this may not apply to you.  I just started using Platinum today and it's smooth as X3- so far!

If your filling up a C drive then you must be storing data to it. 
It's pretty obvious that you should simply get the bulk of your data off that drive and store it to a second drive. 
I have a laptop with a 128 GB SSD drive and it has a lot of software installed.. It is at only 50%. 
The only data I store on it is stuff I'm working on. I keep a lot of files in Dropbox too. 

Yes Catus Music, I have a couple of HDs for data too. I know I must uninstall a lot of  music softwares and re install everything from the begining. I am planning to do it in next long vacation time.
 
I was wondering how big is the Platinum version to add on top of X3 producer just to try it without having to uninstall a lot of programs. Also if there is any improvement in the staff sheet section and in the MIDI edition as well in order to worth a lot of work.

Here are the files from two month ago http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3264981. No new files are needed and the file sizes have not changed that much. The 500MB installer for the help files only installs around 100MB of pdf and help. No one has yet accounted for the addition 400MB in the installer. Most of the drum replacer installs into Cakewalk Content which if you have not already moved off the system drive might be a good candidate.

Run chkdsk /R from an Administrative command prompt.
