This is weird.... I'm tracking in X3e right now - track is armed,  meter is going fine,  track shows up as recorded,  but the track is silent when I play it back.   I can't see any thing out of the ordinary.  What could be the cause?  -ryan

You knocked an volume envelope all the way down to 0?

You're sending the track to a bus that is muted?

No, track is routed to Master and that's wide open and metering just fine.   How do I check the volume envelope?  and is there anything else that I should look for?

To confirm, this is an audio track, not midi ?

Yeah it's audio for sure.   I'm doing some electric guitar work - running my gtr into a POD straight into my interface box.    The audio is metering just fine, and I can hear and see it when I'm tracking.   And it shows up as colored - recorded audio in its track lane just like it should.   But when I play it back - no sound from that track.   And it's not muted either.

Other tracks are playing back fine in this project, and you've checked the output to Master bus on this track ?
Is there anything in event view causing velocity / volume to be reset ?

all other tracks are fine and show up on the meters like normal.   And the recorded track shows up in its track lane as normal - there is a green recorded audio track in there just like I'd expect it to be.   And the audio was recording fine when I was tracking - I saw the meter.   Event List View for the track is empty - no events.

Can you insert a new audio track, then copy and paste the audio recorded to that new track, and see if it plays there ?
Also, wonder if you have any plugins engaged on the track, that might have attenuated settings ?

yeah that did it.   Brand new track - and pasted it into there.  Voila - sound is there!   That original track must have gotten jacked up somehow?

We may never know why, but good to hear at least you can move ahead with your project !
