Mike from Frontier Designs finally got back to me. They've been swamped with emails this past 2 weeks. As a result, I've edited post #15 in this thread where I had previously said they hadn't replied. Fair's fair.    Cheers Mike.

The consensus is that the screen is toast and I've been advised to send it back to the retailer for a new one. Like I said in earlier posts, there's a fat chance of this as it was bought quite some time ago. It's th eonly thing I've ever bought and stored without testing. That'll teach me....lol. Also, this was the retailer's last one so I can't exchange it anyway. To be honest, I'm quite happy to  hang onto it given that it works fine for remote wireless recording - albeit minus the LCD screen.

Like I said, I've another one on the way from Oz. At least I'll have a back up for when one dies. I'll let ya know if the new one works - fingers crossed. However, there's no reason why it shouldn't as my issue seems to be an isolated incident.

Hi Again.

Well...I received my new Tranzport today from Australia and it works as it should. Therefore, I'm totally happy about that. I now have a fully working one and a back up unit for a rainy day which functions okay, albeit with a broken LCD screen.

Thanks again for all your help. It's you good folks who make this the lovely place it is.

My fingers are also crossed, too, fervently hoping that my Tranzport doesn't ever kick the bucket. I don't know how I'd function without it! I hope some other manufacturer comes along with something that works as well, given that Frontier Designs has inexplicably decided to kill this great product. WTF are they thinking?

Great news, Zipps! You're gonna love it, esp. since you can see what it's actually controlling now!

@Dave- I can't imagine what they were thinking, either. I guess the obvious answer is there wasn't enough demand, but if that's what it was it really surprises me, since it does what it does so well (with a bunch of different apps) and seems to have a very loyal following. I'd feel lost without mine, too.

Hate to dig up and OLD thread , but my tranzport stopped working and wont bind, also..
 
did all the usual suspect steps, battery, driver, etc.
 
the only thing I can think of is a recent win 10 update, maybe ..
 
but seems more like a radio issue since it wont bind
 
I dont think Frontier does service anymore, but I will reach out and see

How strange - I've just this minute been reinstalling mine after quite a period of non use due to the studio rebuild.  I'm on Windows 7 64bit
I downloaded the latest drivers, had a little issue initially as I was trying to use a USB hub,  but The Tranzport would not bind and didn't like that so I had to go direct to the computers USB port, installed in compatibility mode as administrator and all is now working perfectly.
Think Frontier are long gone, but you can still pick up Tranzport's off places like Ebay - I got a spare for about $30  a year or so ago and have it tucked safely away in my store room for a rainy day!!
I suppose you tried a reinstall as above??
Hope you get it working and I really hope its not a Windows 10 thing as I might have to upgrade from 7 to 10 one day - but at the moment, I'd rather have windows 7 + Tranzport than windows 10 without!

Thank Nigel., for the comments and wishes, it was working when I first installed win 10, but somewhere on the road it stopped, so I don't know if it is a result of a win 10 update or equipment failure, I tried your steps to no avail.
 
So I will continue to tinker with it.

After my Win 10 update Tranzport still works in SONAR, Reaper and Studio One 3. I did not even need to update any drivers etc.
