Hi, hope someone can help - I cannot get Sonar to connect to Neyrinck V-Control Pro using Mackie Control as the protocol. Trying the Sonar forum here as well the Neyrinck forum in case a Sonar user has figured this out.
I have V-Control running on an iPad Air. Sonar Platinum Update 7 32-bit running on Windows 7 64-bit on a Dell Inspiron laptop. Ney-Fi version 1.8 installed, Bonjour working, Firewall ok etc.
In V-Control, I have selected my laptop (Inspiron.local) in the list of available computers, and selected SONAR as the DAW. In V-Window on the iPad I can watch my Windows desktop in real-time, so I'm pretty sure the Ney-Fi Bonjour connection to my iPad is ok - no Wi-Fi problems.
In Sonar, I followed the instructions to set up V-Control, V-Pan 1 and V-Pan 2 as MIDI devices, then created a new control surface, choosing Mackie Control, with V-Control for input and output, enabling metering of Signal LEDs + Meters. Then I just see "Connecting..." in the controller module in the command bar in SONAR. V-Control doesn't work.
I've noticed though that when I move a slider in V-Control, I see the Sonar MIDI-in activity light blink in the Windows system tray. This shows to me that MIDI data is being received by Sonar from V-Control. If I right-click on a fader in Sonar in the console, and choose Remote Control... -> Learn, then waggle a slider in V-Control, the controller is interpreted as Note #G8. This results in the slider just toggling all the way up or all the way down, i.e. it's a note on/note off control, which is useless.
I saw in another thread in the Neyrinck forum to delete the ttseq.ini and ctrlsurface.dat files which I did, then restart Sonar and repeat the config. Didn't fix the problem. Also tried restarting the laptop and iPad, no improvement.
Any suggestions for how to fix this?
Cheers, John
