When in track, there is setting to have Inputs and Outputs visible and selectable. Right now all tracks created empty with only buttons. How do I make those to appear in SPX3? Thank you.

Is this what you're looking for?

No- in the track view- on the track itself when you select out to Master and In- your hardware input for each track. I have Track name, Clip and Muto/Solo/Freeze buttons. There should be Ins/Outs to select for Audio track and MIDI Ins/Outs for MIDI. I have nothing but space in the each track body.

I think I know what you're asking.....you have to use the console view to do that now.

Its in the track inspector at the bottom.

scook has the answer. I believe that's officially called the "Track Control Filter" (or something like that). There are actually three options you can choose that will show the ins/outs/sends.

"All" (which is in scook's picture)

i/o (which of course stands for ins/outs)

Custom (which allows you to choose what is shown if you click on the "Track Control Manager" option in the Track Control Filter menu. In that dialog you can actually create, name and save your own track control presets and they will appear in the filter options. Otherwise the settings in that dialog will apply to the "Custom" option in the filter menu... and of course overide your previous setting for the Custom option).

Thank you very much. It was right there all this time!

Wow. I am starting to like X3 more than Platinum! Looks like very wide, clear interface. I would have to compare them side by side to tell where is the difference.

But how come I dont have that time window and drop down menu like Scook shows in my Platinum? Is it optional and can come and go or is it gone now? Thanks.

That's weird. As far as I know it's not possible to hide those (the Track View time thing and Track Control Filter). I'm looking at it right now in SPlat and even looked around to see if there was some option to hide them.

I seem to actually recall some strange user account complaing about not being able to hide them at one point.

I do think they made the area that contains those items a little more compact to save screenspace though but am not sure. Check again or maybe open a new project in SPlat to see if it's there.

BTW... in scook's picture he has the Inspector open which moves that time bubble, the Control Filter and the Track Pane to the left. When the inspector is closed it appears at the far right of the screen.

I think maybe what is happening is in your SPlat project you have pushed the Track Pane/Clips Pane divider line so far to the left that it made the Track Control Filter disappear (which it does if there isn't enough room to show it).

That would also explain why you think X3 is more "wide open" than SPlat. You just need to resize the Track Pan horizontally.
