Ok. Perhaps you could put power saving off from the BIOS also. Just be careful to not make accidentally other changes in the BIOS.
I'm really intimidated by BIOS changes, I basically have no clue on how to use and every attempt in the past has left me scratching me head. IOt's been a while since I started this thread. I think the idea of having to tackle BIOS scared me off.

I always have my Sonar computers set to NEVER allow sleep or hibernate and also I turn off USB Selective Suspension of devices (that one is in Advanced Options for Power Management).
So, all my USB devices are on all the time, and the computer always runs at maximum processor state, and never sleeps or turns anything off, and all is well.
Give that a shot, please, and post back.

I stay in a hotel and when I leave the room the power cuts out. For heat reason I'd rather not leave a laptop on at all times, and I sleep in the same room.
I have those setting in power management for the USB Selective Suspend to be disabled both on battery and power.
Thanks for the Screen prints BobF, sorry for not thanking you effort earlier.

I have a Duo Capture. When it hangs up, I find that flipping its (hardware) switch to another sample rate, waiting a second or two for the software to catch up, and then flipping back to the original rate is enough to reawaken it. Sorry, I cannot remember whether Quad Capture has the same hardware switch, so this information may or may not be useful!
It's not hanging in use, just when it sleeps, and it turns back on after I open. At this point SONAR states it was disconnected and there is no way to re-connect without shutting Sonar. It's this part that bothers me, it's a faff.
I never had this issue in Window 7 on my last laptop, so maybe it is just a BIOS issue. I updateed the Quads Software a few days back and this issues still occurs.
