  • New start screen is not dual monitor friendly

I've always admired how the VST scan box shows up squarely pocketed into the lower right corner of my left monitor. That's handy and intuitive. The new start up menu, however, doesn't do me the same kindness. It is split squarely across the middle of both screens. That means I have to slide it in order to read what is in the middle.

Could an adjustment be made to where it lands in a dual monitor setup? Any one of the corners would do.

The reason the scan is there is because its running as a TOAST from the taskbar.

By having your TV stretched across the two monitors the start screen is placing itself in the center where it always is.

I see. So nothing can be done about it. :)

I am not having a problem.

I just set a primary/secondary monitor and do not have it set to span. (I use Dual Display Mode)

If you have it set to span display - then you are telling it middle of your screen is where the box is currently popping up.

I am using dual monitor as Display 1 & 2. The start screen appears in the middle of one of the screen.

when I start Sonar it starts on a single monitor, the way I have set it maximized on that screen. I use dual display : one for main sceen of Sonar with transport, and track view. I have undocked the console view and dragged to the second screen.

I am not using displays as extended display to span the tracks over two displays.

No issues with dual displays here

I have my monitors set to span, and I use screensets rather than tabs.

Every VST, or other, dialogue box can be trained to land wherever you want it. If I want to tinker with AD2, for instance, the box automatically lands upper left corner. If I want it some other place, it will go there each time. As near as I can determine, only the splash screen lands dead center.

Not a big deal, but it seems it could be made to land elsewhere very easily.

Yeah, it should remember where it was last positioned if nothing else.

Like others, I use 2 displays not spanned.  The main TV on the left and multidock on the right.  I can see it being handy to span and use screensets as well.

I to have the same complaint, not only the start screen but also preferences pops up there.

Like Bob once repositioned it should remember where it was last placed.

Try this little tool:

I use ZMover to position vst-plugins over dual-screen:

... ZMover will monitor the desktop and automatically reposition, resize, or even keep selected windows below or above the others when they open.
