When I create Region FX V-vocal, it opens V-vocal editor but there's nothing in it. No waveform at all and it will mute that audio clip. Is there a way to get it work? I also has Sonar X2 and V-vocal works perfecly on it.

Also Melodyne (Region FX) won't work on X3. It opens Melody editor, but when I try to change note pitch or timing nothing happen.

It worked fine for me in X3 as it does in Platinum as well...

So I suspect something else is involved... Your message mentions Melody. I'm guessing you mean Melodyne?

Maybe try an uninstall/re-install...?

VV can be a bit flakey on the best of systems.

One way to guarantee to get it working is as follows (a workaround at best!)

Export all of your backing tracks to a standard wav
Open up a brand new project and import the backing track
With both projects open, drag/copy the tracks you want to apply VV to into the new project on separate tracks
Do all of your VV work, bounce each one to clip, then drag back to the original project

Open the comping lanes and make sure the take you want to edit is highlighted. I've had no v-vocal issue in X3.

Absolutely! I forgot about running into that one...

I've had no problem with VV ever outside of its occasional poor phase issues... I'm not sure if it's phase, but occasionally areas get strange... I still prefer it over the limited version of Melodyne included with Sonar. I get far better results. Maybe one day I'll be able to try the full version? ;-)

I still have  problems with VVocal, either crashing Sonar, or more frequently, it seems to scan the required audio but opens up an empty GUI

I didn't know about the take lanes suggestion - will try that on a suitable project

In such an instance (which I did have a few times) I found that copying the audio to a new track enabled VV on the new track which I used then pasted the results (both the edited audio and the underlying original clip) back to the original track... That seemed to work if I remember correctly...

Note that I've had this happen with Melodyne as well...

I see others have found it necessary to move the audio to a new project before VV would engage correctly. I don't think I've had to do that...

I'm trying to remember more details as this has not happened often at all and both VV and Melodyne have been very well behaved here...

Now I noticed that if there's no software synth(s) in project, V-vocal seems to work fine. But if I put any software synth to project,  VV won't work (it crashes Sonar).

That's odd...

Can you rebuild the song in a new project using the earlier mentioned topic of exporting each/all tracks then importing them to a new project?

It sounds as though something's amiss in the project. Maybe it got corrupted somehow?
