hi,
I am upgrading to sonar platinum, any recommendations or suggestions on a inexpensive digital studio mixer?  Presonus, Beheringer, or ???

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi  koreabsorb. I have used extensively both the Presonus 16.0.2 and the Behringer X32. Feature wise, the Behringer is worlds ahead - in fact I now have both the X32 Producer and X32 Rack that I use for live production and am very pleased with their performance.. If you want an 'all rounder' mixer for live and studio use that would be my recommendation. However, I would not choose either the Behringer or the Presonus if you are purchasing exclusively for studio use. There are far better dedicated interfaces available around the same price point, though not in stand alone mixer format. Anything from RME will see you right, and their ongoing driver support is second to none.

Best of luck with your shopping:)

I've been using a Presonus 16.0.2 for quite a while (both for live and studio work), and used in combination with a manufacturer recommended firewire card, it's been totally reliable. Low latency and straight forward to operate.

Solid trouble free recording so far :-)

I've used both the X32 and a Presonus 32.4.2 AI rather extensively (also the Soundcraft Performer 2).  I'll have to say that I'm not a fan of the Presonus board.  The Soundcraft is...uh...weird...but I'm getting used to it.  I far prefer the X32, even though it says "Behringer" on the outside.
