  • moving a song into the Cakewalk Projects folder

I've saved all of my songs in the Cakewalk Projects folder on the C drive.    I just finished another song, but when I went to look for it, it wasn't there.   After searching for a while, I finally found it.   This new song ended up on the G drive.  I have no idea how it got there.   I tried to "Save As," but I didn't see an option to put in on the C drive.

So how do I move the new song from the G drive to the Cakewalk Projects folder on the C drive?

Thanks!
Greg

Drag the project folder from G drive and drop it in your cakewalk projects on C drive. Check your preferences in Sonar to see if it's set to save projects on G drive.

I'm not understanding about checking in Preferences to see if it's saving it to the G drive.   I checked Preferences, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for exactly.    I went to Preferences > Audio Date > Global Audio - and it's set to the G drive.   But I don't know if that's what you're talking about.

Thanks,
Greg

I am curious on how it got there in the first place. Did you create a new project without giving it a name first? In Gloucester+ the ability to create a "no name" project now exists, and I am wondering if it is pathing it to the Global Audio folder as a catch all.

Not checked this yet, but I did create one of those and hit Ctrl-S out of habit, and "Untitled-1" popped up as the title. I guess I should go look for that guy.

Quick Edit: I just looked and do not see it, but remember when I closed that project it prompted me if I wished to save or not. I remember saying no to that, so it may have been eradicated at that point.

Thanks Bob, that's what I was referring to.

Thanks for your help, guys.  I really appreciate it!

mettelus:   No, I always create a name first  (song 1, or song 2, etc).   This is a mystery to me as to how it ended up on G drive.

Thanks!

I followed that path, and it says C drive.  So I'm clueless as to how the song ended up on the G drive.  Interesting..

Thanks!
