Maybe. Check event viewer first though..

Cheers..

This is the only Cakewalk error I have.  I'll let you computer experts figure it out as I am just a dumb guitarist!

Thanx

Does not look related unfortunately... Not necessarily looking for Cakewalk errors.

When I boot while on-line the only error that I get is that the wave's activation thumb drive would not load.  That is probably because Sonar is not on yet as when I turn on Sonar all is well with the wave's VSTs.

When I boot while off line I get that error message as well plus the ethernet card driver did not load.  That would be expected I think.

Thus I think the problem is with that latest Sonar upgrade.  Like I said while on-line no problem but when I'm off-line no start menu icons.

You might also want to try updating your network adapter drivers (always worth doing anyway).

Unless it's a Intel Network Card. Then *don't* update the drivers. (or at least use DPC Latency Checker for big spikes...)

Why on earth would that be? If you have any issues afterwards you can easily roll back (one or two clicks), in almost all cases though new drivers are an improvement all round.

Anyway his drivers are up to date (and I suspect working perfectly well).

Sorry Mario - I had big problems when I updated my Intel Network Card drivers recently, and others had the same.
I just thought I'd bring that up...

I've kinda given up hope on this one. I'm having the same issue and e-mailed cakewalk on Monday and never got a reply. I just don't use the start screen now. Even though I think it would be useful.
