What I usually do though is just open the console, drag the bus/track divider out then use the horizontal scroll bar to show the track(s) I want on the track side and the busses being fed by those tracks on the right side. That way I can not only access the console strips of both the track(s) and bus but easily access each of their Inspectors (like if I already have the inspector open I just click on the strip and KAPLOW... it's there... if the Inspector isn't open all I gotta do is press I).

KAPLOW!

I love it

Doh!

Looks like this particular feature is still in development and won't be included in the new Hopkinton release.  They've also changed the title of this feature from "Track-to-Track Routing" to "Virtual Patch Points", so while the ability to print to a new track/record virtual synths is on the way, I think the jury's still out on whether this will function as an Aux track (thereby allowing bus-like behavior for grouping tracks, parallel processing, etc. within the track pane).  Then again, they've broken out "Synth Recording" as a separate feature, so who knows.

I'm so impatient!!!!

Virtual patch points do away with the need for extra "aux tracks". The patch point is essentially like using a patch bay where you can patch any number of tracks or buses to it and then "connect" the patch point output to another track (or bus). If its patched to a track you can then record that tracks patchpoint input just like it was a hardware input.
The feature is in development so any or all of this might change :)

No GUI required today - patch points are created from the track input/outputs and show up in the menus.
Although in the future we could do some fancy routing matrix view.

That actually looks horrible.

Agreed. Last thing I need is another massive and self indulgent GUI taking over my screen (I'm looking at you AD2).

If the routing options are in the dropdowns and work. Great. If there is a simple to use and easy to understand TEXT based global map showing what goes where with editing capabilties (like "I wanna send this to this instead... *CLICK*")... awesome.

Then again xbitz put a smiley at the end of his post so I think he was joking.

+1, at least have more than one cable color!

On a serious note, a graphical routing map for both audio and MIDI (by channel) in a project would be rather nice.

... and show patched effects in the matrix as well.

yepp it was a joke, but it's a real issue and I'm not sure about what would be the best

Reaper one (at least it has some) >

as u can see it contains the fx ones too (which is also a freely routeable one in it so can use not just serialized path )
