Hey guys,

How do you get rid of orphaned automation envelopes AFTER a VST effect has been applied to an audio track?    I've been creating elaborate automation envelopes with a VST effect...    then I apply that effect,  with its automated values.  DONE.  I don't want to see those envelopes anymore on that track,  have no plans to use them again.   But they persist.   So how do I get rid of them,  short of bouncing the track to a wholly new track?

Thanks,   ras

Hi. You could try to right click on the envelop, and click delete (in case you have not tried that already).
Best of luck.

  1. Select All (or drag across the timeline for the duration of the entire song). The object here is to select a region that encompasses ALL automation nodes.
  2. Click on the number of the track with the automation you want to delete.
  3. Choose Edit > Delete Special and check only Track/Bus automation.

Hey Ras - stop by SSS sometime! It's having quite the renaissance since HC split from GC.

Hey,  Craig,  WAZZUP!  Long time,  no see!    I'll be by SSS soon.  I'm hot 'n' heavy back into my music again,  and have many questions these days.

Did the above answer your question? It gets asked often, so if it works, I'll copy it into my bag o' tricks for pasting into replies when appropriate.
