A couple of things.  1rst, now that I've updated to Hopkinton my PRV, Console and any other docked views don't fully open when activated...i.e. they won't open in full screen mode like they used to.  I have to window shade them up to full screen every time.  Is there a way to default them to full screen.  2nd, Now when I insert Melodyne as a region effect it automatically docks itself which I don't want at all.  If I undock it and try to move it to my preferred screen location I get the dreaded "blue mass of dockdom".  Isn't there a way to disable auto docking?  If so, how?  3rd, I see that I can still load my "Normal" template with the new start screen thingy but can I lose the empty project thingy behind the start screen icon choice screen?  It's a visual and disconcerting annoyance.

If I'm not mistaken in an update some time back they made docking a key and move instead of by default.
 
I don't as a rule use the multidock much but perhaps a screenset setup for full screen would fix the problem.

To reiterate what was written earlier, several versions ago Sonar used to default to full screen view, or at the very least would remember docking settings when a project is saved/re-opened, but now it seems that it will default to a half-pane view regardless.  Kind of annoying, but hitting Shift-D doesn't put too much of a crimp on the workflow.  And what's nice is that once you've hit Shift-D after starting/opening a project, it will remember that setting for the rest of the session, so just hitting D will toggle between screens.  It's just when you start a new project or open a saved one that you have to press Shift-D.  At least that's been my experience.

Thanks Bristol. I knew it was something. I just couldn't remember what it was. 

Thanks to all for the help. But shift-d didn't work either...but I'll tell you what did...double clicking a clip while it was playing not only took me into a full screen PRV...it fixed the problem. Now the PRV behaves normally...go figure.

As to the multi-dock...Melodyne never opened up docked in any iteration of Sonar I've had. So why is it defaulting to opening up down in the multi-dock...also not full screen...now??

And can I change/disable that??

Are you using Melodyne via ARA or as a plug-in?   If it's the former, then it would have always (by default) opened in the MD.   If it's the latter, plugins can also be docked, so I guess you'd have to drag it out first and perhaps also mess with the VST Pinning option (Preferences).

I agree and I would prefer that once set it stays that way, even after a save.
 
I did actually raise it as a bug and was informed it was working as intended.
