That's the problem: NO errors in any of the logs, no mini dump from Sonar, and if I try to force one through the Task Manager, I can't...it's locked up, too.  :(

Def drivers or hardware fault.

Are your other audio apps using ASIO, WDM or MME as the driver type?

Some driver is running into an issue - most likely power management. Definitely make sure that you are running the latest NVidia drivers for your graphics card. They have released at least 2 updates. Also for your audio interface.

If you still have the error after that some info on the web says to try disabling "fast startup" in control panel | Hardware and sound | power options | choose what the power buttons do. You may have to click "change settings that are currently unavailable"

Agree with ampfixer. Try to get tech support involved in this, they will have you up and running in next to no time.

Not a problem, that's telling us it's drivers all over...

Just update your drivers and firmware everywhere. Display, audio interface, etc. You could even try updating your motherboard chipset and BIOS.

One of these will probably fix it.

Why is the Creative Labs X-Fi feeding into the Delta 1010LT?

Well it's a really good way to seperate and route your windows sounds for instance (e.g. YouTube). It's nice to have a dedicated audio interface for your DAWs and other recording software so it does not get in the way. I do it myself, I own a saffire Pro 40 and a NI Z1.

To all:  Removed the X-Fi drivers and disabled the card  (have to leave it in place for when I boot into another OS0.

That was the problem.  All better now.  Thanks for the help!  :D

Now the only problem I have is I can't find the "Create Perfect Mix & Master" button.  Sigh.  I guess I'll have to do all that stuff by hand.

Sir Les
hay...hope all is moving along?.
Just a thought.

Nvidia control pannel (when I right click on my desktop, and select Nvidia control ...And select audio, I can disable the HDMI audio.

Wonder if this helps ponder the try and see method?
