  • How to Disable Start Screen?

I would like disable the start screen. It just adds extra time on start up, the thumbnails of the screen aren't much help, and the previous start dialog did all I needed it to do.  I looked for a checkbox or something that will just keep it off and could not find. Anyone have any suggestions?

I know I can blow through that, but I'd rather not see it in the first place.

The whole start screen seems much ado about nothing really. Doesn't do anything for me. Just don't get it.

If it was like Studio One now that would be something but it just seems a bigger screen for nothing new just some existing stuff moved to a new window.

The only significant advantages for me are being able to pin projects so they always remain at the top, and easier template management. Those make it worthwhile for me. I don't care for the New project option because then I have to create a folder for the project further down the line.

The start improvement I really like was introduced in Gloucester, where going File > New lets you specify bit depth, sample rate, tempo, meter, and do easier template selection. I would prefer if selecting New from the Start Screen brought up that option.

I will say I find the thumbnails more useful than I thought I would, as they help differentiate among different versions of the same project depending on the state they were in when I saved them.

I think I may disable this as well.  Sure the start screen looks a little prettier but I don't see any great advantage over the original one.

Same here.  I'm mildly suspicious that we're not seeing the finished Start Screen though.

Thanks for the instructions on disabling.  The internet access ... on my system, at least, -- means an appreciable wait for it to get done with stuff I don't want it doing.
