This is a very unfamiliar file extension to modern formats and is difficult to deal with in todays formats. Why don't you make it wav like everyone uses to make it easier on us. Is there a way I can change the format to something a little more useable friendly. I like the SS a bunch however dealing with these files are a complete PITA. Does anybody have any easy options or suggestions on what they do with them. Tia,

I gave up on step sequencer and now use geist.

Bounce a step sequencer file to itself, and it becomes a conventional MIDI clip.

Because the step sequencer drives virtual instruments, you need to render the instrument as audio if you want to convert MIDI into WAV.

Thanks Craig I'll work on that and see how it goes.

Doktor that thing is is the real answer. It's very tempting a little pricey but I may have to bite the bullet here.

Black Friday/cyber Monday maybe cheaper. Also version 3 around the corner (nobody knows exactly when).

Just remember that Geist is at its best only if you have a keyboard with sufficient range to do the keyswitching. Please check out the Pro Review I did for Harmony Central, I think it will give you a good overview of what Geist is all about.

Geist 2 (the VSTi) is in the works, I had to Google to realize there is a Geist 3 (the video game) being talked about.

Geist has gone on sale for 99USD off and on, so either the holidays (or promotion for Geist 2) will probably see that again. The step sequencer of Geist is only a small portion of its capabilities, but is rather pain-free to work with. It is actually a DAW in its own right, but it is pattern/block/section-based, rather than track-based.
