Is it possible to manually copy installers into CCC download folder then have CCC install and authorize these without CCC re-downloading ?
I just built a new PC and would like to simply move my existing Sonar installation to it.
I would like to stick with Gloucester and skip Hopkinton.
Essentially what I want is to use CCC for authorization only. I am aware I can manually authorize but would like to skip this since it has to be repeated for each installed product.
If this is not possible, it would be a nice feature, essentially a checkbox for update or install.

In theory yes. Never tried it.

I have all CCC downloads on an external HD, and recently did a clean installation of SONAR from CCC downloads folder. So to answer your question, yes

Thanks for the replies.
The only reason I care about this is my internet connection takes about 1.25 hour to download 1GB.
Anyway, I tried it by copying the Gloucester installer to CCC download folder.
First I tried disabling internet. CCC will not run.
Next I enabled internet and clicked Install Sonar Platinum.
It downloaded Hopkinton.
I suppose it might work if you were trying it with the latest update. (assume this is what you did Zargg).
Right now, it looks like offline auth is the only way to go short of the intended usage of CCC.

I just installed the latest update. Had no problems with SONAR or the other items. Everything is green in CCC.

I had the CCC originally on a fairly large SATA drive I was using as my C: drive, but then I decided to swap that out for a nice shiny new 250 GB SSD, and didn't want CCC filling it up with all of its stuff, so I just altered the location and manually copied everything over to it, and it never lost a beat finding its 'stuff', so it was all quite seamless and painless.

I believe that as long as you have the path information correct, and put the data into wherever you moved it to, it should run fine - whether you are doing as I did above, or are similarly moving to a new PC.

Best of luck with your fancy new computer - Hope you load it up with lots and lots of new toys, and have a blast with it all.  :)

You probably needed to hit the fresh button in settings first.

I use this technique to update my performance laptop to save downloading twice - works just fine. Obviously CCC will always check for latest version and download it if available - that's its job:) If you want to install an older version just run the installer manually until you have downloaded the latest update.

I am pretty sure you only need to log into CCC to authorize SONAR (and that seems to be all it authorizes). You can manually install everything or let CCC do it if the downloads are in the CCC download setting's path. The new version of CCC verifies the installed versions of programs versus what is current (requires internet connection).

Due to your slow connection speed, you may want to blow off the local documentation and use online help, as that file is .5GB, when only 40MB or so of it is actually installed.

It works, and I do that only.
I come to office. Go to cakewalk.com. sign-in and go to my account -> Product. Download required files store on a pen drive. Go home and copy to the CCC download folder. Connect my SLOW internet. Run CCC and select to install.

No complication...

I have just downloaded Hopkinton and will install in the evening..
Thanks
