While in a project, if I go to the File menu and select Open, then choose another project, I get the start screen after the project opens. Is this supposed to happen? If so, (which doesn't make sense) can it be turned off? I see the setting for controlling if it opens upon launch but nothing else.

FWIW I brought this to CW's attention, and I believe they'll tweak this behavior.

Based on what's happened with Mix Recall, Vocalsync, and the Drum Replacer, it seems that new features get periodic updates instead of bundling feature enhancements into one big update. I don't see any reason why the start screen would deviate from this pattern.

My method of accessing files in general (not just Sonar files) is to work from a desktop icon of the file.

I have found over years of working with files that working from a copy of a file (renamed with next version number) is a wonderful way of ensuring I don't lose a previous successful version and allows me to go back if there's an issue in the current file I'm working in.

Long story short, I open Sonar files by double clicking the icon of a file from the desktop folder.

When doing so in Hopkington the Start Screen does not display - which is ideal for me.

If for some reason I actually open from the Sonar New or Open menu I do see the Start Screen. I think that's great.

yeah I was left wondering what the purpose of having the start screed open when I just opened a project. 
 
It is nice when I simply start Sonar. Not sure if I'll find the thumbnails useful, they all look too similar so far.

got this thread in looking for a way to disable start screen?   can't seem to find it.   why take an extra step to close an unnecessary screen when I already know exactly why I opened sonar and I want to get to work?
