  • New start screen doesn't find my projects

If I try to load a recent file, start screen says it doesn't find it. My projects are not located on C:. I prefer to locate them on a different HD. Start screen recognizes the last projects loaded but, if I try to reload, it says that can't find them.

Same problem here. It seems the start screen only finds your songs if you save them to the C drive Cakewalk Projects folder. I, like you, save my projects on a different and separate drive. I was hoping this will be fixed with a update.

Strange as I also store projects on a different drive, but the new start screen lists and opens them without a problem.

It's a long shot, but have you checked that the default project path is still directed to the required drive / folder ?

I wouldn't say that was a long shot. If you don't tell Sonar where to look it won't look in the right place.

Grum.

I agree with the advice above. I have my projects on a separate drive, but they still show up on start screen as recent. So I think it is a settings issue.
Best of luck.

Same here, but only on one project! All the recent projects come up and all load when I click on the thumbnails, but one of them wont load and I get the cannot find message. All projects are located on the same drive and load fine from existing project link. Odd.

Setting the location might be a good place to check. I have noticed that if there is an apostrophe int he path or file name the start menu fails to find the file. I reported this to Cake.

I have also seen reports that non english characters have the same problems. This was reported my a Norwegian (i think).

I found that if I use the file>open command it will load the projects just fine.

Start screen is a gem works well I know some individuals like to start in a normal template but have been opening projects in the basic template. Simple and easy solution to that one press the star icon on to what ever template you want to start on. Alot of people have switched of the start screen because of this...If you have an external drive you always make sure that you save your projects on the external hard drive. For me this is my F: drive!

Bingo!!

In my case that is the issue - all the other projects load properly except for the apostrophe'd project title - good pick up!
