  • Can't Record - RESOLVED

Yet another weird problem for me.  I can arm a track, hit record, and hear the count-off clicks--but nothing gets recorded.

Also, the master record light goes on on the VS-700 console, but the light doesn't come on on the channel.

So stuff that is OK 1-track looks armed in Sonar 2-Record shows in Control bar 3-Clicks before recording are normal and 4-master record light on console is OK

Stuff that is not OK 1-track doesn't look armed on console 2-no sound gets record 3-no recording activity visible in track

To be clear, the track is not frozen and I tried several different tracks.

Ideas?

One thing that might be causing it could be locked or hidden channel strips ...

Did you by any chance "lock" a channel on the vs-700?? This feature is broken since the Sonar X series and causes the console to become really confused ... I think it is [SHIFT] + channel [SEL] ... channel get an asterisk in the console display ...

Or did you hide channels manually in the Sonar Track Manager feature ???

Does this happen in other projects as well? Or in a newly created one?

Just a long shot but, Check that 'Punch-In' isn't accidentally enabled and set for a measure you have not yet reached.  This recently happened to me.. I still don't know how it happened.

You guys are awesome.

First, although the channel was not locked, that is a great suggestion and something to check in the future.

Second, the Punch-In WAS enabled and that was the problem!  Now, the arm light is still not coming on on the console, but maybe that will work when I reboot.  Not a big deal though because recording is working again.

Thanks!

Having Punched enabled has caught a lot of us out in the past Konradh so you are definitely not alone
