I'm on about the original one ( not the newly released version )

I just saw it mentioned that it'll be in next computer music's (issue 171) cover disc.

not free "as such" as you still have to buy the mag.

I notice that when I go into buy mags sometimes that someone has taken the cover disk, thats why I subscribed instead.

I've stopped buying this mag since moving to Aus.  It costs $20 here (equiv to £13).

my friend just came back from Oz from a wedding, he stayed there 4 weeks.. he got a shock to how expensive it is there. He was shocked a pack of beer was $50 hehe. he stayed in a 3 star or 4 hotel.. said prices were equivalent to a 5 star.

I know it goes missing in the post in Italy, so a well known sound maker for rapture / z3ta commented when he visited London a few years ago..

pity really, but maybe it balances out other ways there.

The weak UK£ against the strong AU$ accounts for a lot the price differences.

Don't mention beer!  The two things that I miss most are real ales and decent curries.

FIFTY Bux for a six pack?  OMG!  I would just flip my wig!  I can't live without my lager- and I certainly don't mind paying for the good stuff.  However, I must have my "everyday standard" stuff.  I've just found a place that sells me a 24-pack for $15.  That's a decent deal, works out to be something about 63cents per...  I can live with that.  I could not live with fifty bux for a six pack.  Wow Fog, that is really over the top.  I really just can't imagine it

Oooo real ales and good curries sounds like a nice friday night!

You better spend your money while it will still buy something.

A 30 pack of Budweiser is under 20 bucks here, Sierra Nevada Ale and other comparables are 7.99 for a six pack. I think Red Stripe is 8.99 but you have to get REALLY exotic to find a beer or ale over 10 dollars a 6-pack. In the ATL there is Harry's Farmers Market that has a huge selection of beer and wine and there is a place in Kennesaw off Barrett Parkway that is literally a warehouse sized store with every beer, ale, and wine you can imagine. They even carry two brands of Kolsch that is only brewed in Cologne, Germany... prices are good too. They have stores all over ( I looked up the website) http://www.totalwine.com/

I don't drink much anymore but I'd probably give it up if I lived in OZ and had to pay that much. Actually, I rarely drink beer anymore... I prefer bourbon neat. Either Bookers or Bakers... good stuff!! Bookers is barrel proof 130+ proof, and Bakers is 107 proof but smooth... but you get a wooden box with the Bookers, laff.. like it matters.

If the "powers that be" would just legalize cannabis and opiates none of this would matter.

Actually the price of things like beer here in Oz has more to do with taxes, the taxes they put onto products like alcohol and cigerettes are suppose to discouarge you from buying them.  It's a load of ****, it doesn't stop people from buying these products and has proven to be nothing more than a revenue raising messure for the goverment. haven't you got it yet??  That's why we, Australia have the best economy in the world it has nothing to do with economic management or even resources, we are one of the highest taxed countries in the world and we have a very small population.

As for computer music mag, it's been 20$ since 1999, I brought my first copy then.  I gave up after about 3 years because these magazines tend to repeat themselves, they are really good for beginers but after that they just tend to give you gear envy and get in the way of music making, sometimes though they do give away some really good freeware.
