I just upgraded to Sonar "Hopkinton", and am having anew problem in PRV and I don't know if it's a bug or if it's me.  When I open the PRV for a MIDI track controlling a synth, my cursor shows the pencil - normally I can click and it drops a note at that point.  Now it just gives me a pop-up label with the name of the track.  I cannot figure out a way to manually insert a note.

Is this a setting somewhere that I need to re-toggle, or is it a program issue?

This was a new  MIDI track in my project - just tried it in a pre-existing MIDI track and it works ok; so it must be a setting somewhere?

Not seeing that here.

What happens if you switch to the Smart Tool?

That has been the same for all platinum versions: sometimes sonar thinks you have not selected a track, so instead of allowing note entry it requires you to identify a track first.    Not sure exactly why and how it happens, but it definitely does occasionally.    Work-around:   click a track in the pop-up, then you'll be able to add notes, controllers, or whatever.

I really wish some developer at CW would look at the PRV and make it something other than difficult and weird.

Switching the Smart Tool didn't help.  The pop-up was only giving me the offending track, and selecting that didn't do anything.  I switched selected tracks and other PRV tracks worked OK, but this particular one wouldn't.  I hadn't done too much in it, so I ended up deleting the track and starting it over, the new track worked ok; I don't think I'd done anything different...
Mystery.
