Can one of you Sonar Pros help me figure out how to do this?  I need to send a MIDI CC 20 message to EW Choirs at the beginning of the sequence to reset Wordbuilder for all vocal tracks.  How do you do this? 
 
Sorry for the double tap, but - Cubase had an ability called 'MIDI delay compensation' that was great for sample libraries with long attacks.  Is there a way to do that in Sonar without adding some plugin? (Albion has some good attacks on their strings, but require offset because they can lag behind real time a bit...)

For this, you can view the event list and manually insert the CC20 event that way....

There is a "time +" setting (sits just above the "Patch Browser" button) setting in every MIDI track.  This is in the track inspector. This can be negative numbers as well.....  I use this for when patches have a long attack and I have to compensate for.

promidi's solution for the first is easy ... EL, insert controller.
 
For the second, if you don't want to make all notes shifted, perhaps a CAL program would work ... see some of the examples in the installation.    In a "do" loop, find all the note events, set Event.Time to Event.Time minus your preferred ticks (cal can't handle real-time, only midi ticks). 
 

I just finished another project which took me away from this for a while, but now I'm back to finish this monstrous choral gig and I'm still having difficulties sending the CC20 data.  I have inserted an event list item, and can change the type to 'controller', however, when trying to change the type of controller to CC20, there is no option to do so.  Only - 0-127, and typical labeled types such as expression, modulation, pedal, and then only numbers.  Is there a particular numeric code for CC20?

Put the cursor in the box, ignore the tooltip and type the number.  It works.
 

I guess I'm doing a poor job of communicating :/ .  Once I open up the EL for the track, I see several categories at the top: Trk, HMSF, MBT, Ch, Kind, Data, and a blank.  Once I change Kind to Control, I'm assuming you're talking about changing Data to "20"?  I see text options for other types of controls, such as modulation and expression.  I would expect to additionally see CC20, CC11, etc.
 
Can I assume the box to the right of Data that is unlabeled is probably 'Amount?'

In the EL, the header is "data", click on the controller, type your number.   (the "Kind" field has to be at controller, of course)  Or in PRV, controller pane, in the "new value type" selector, click on the box under the header "value" and type 20, ignoring the pop-up options.   Yes sonar is inconsistent .. what can you do except learn to work around these things.
 

The named MIDI CCs are basically the few that are usually tied to particular things in most synths, CC1=modulation wheel, CC7=volume etc.
