  • Does "Hopkinton" screw up staff view snap function?

I just compared the staff view snap function in Gloucester and Hopkinton.  It appears that the snap function, which was working right in Gloucester, is not working the same way.

Choose a note value, i.e. sixteenth note.  Watch the little window which shows you where your cursor is and move it around, it should be moving by 120 ticks (assuming a time base of 480 for quarter notes).  But it is moving by 32nd notes, not good.  Gloucester works correctly.

Can anybody else confirm this to make sure I am not making a mistake?

Thanks!

I can't vouch for Gloucester having been correct, but Hopkinton is definitely doing some weird stuff. I use the default 960PPQ so 1/16 is 240 ticks, but I don't think it matters. When I try to write a measure of 16ths, the 2nd and 3rd notes get dropped 1/32 early, then the 4th, 5th and 6th are correct, the 7th is a 32nd early again, etc. If I then fix the timing in the PRV, the Staff view doesn't change (already showing evenly spaced 16ths).

Hopkinton definitely messed up snap functions in staff view.  If you choose a quarter note, Sonar snaps to an eighth note.  If you choose an eighth note, it snaps to a 16th note.  And if you choose a 16th note, Sonar snaps to 32nd notes.

I compared this with Gloucester, which works properly and as expected..

Can't believe they fixed this and then broke it again...  ;>(
