Just tried selecting on track number, no difference.

Are you holding the Ctrl key when selecting the 2nd track? That is how you multi select.

Yes.
If a track is selected, the track number lights up, when I try to select another track or multiple tracks, only the original stays lit and the other track does not get selected.

Repro steps:
New project
Drag two separate audio files into the project.
Select a portion from the timeline and then select the first track you dragged in.
Or select a portion from one of the two tracks and then try to change tracks.
Or try to select both tracks...

#14 works on 8.1 and Foxborough, just in case people question whether it was working before.
I won't be installing Gloucester for a couple of weeks/next maintenance release so sorry I can't test.

SONAR has never selected clips based on track focus.

Well I can select with Foxborough, it seems to select using gustabo's steps in post #14, and it doesn't seem to select according to his video using the same steps.

Focus another track (as you do in the video) and press Ctrl+',' (comma). Does that extend the selection?

Bob, have you tried restarting SONAR and/or rebooting anywhere along the line?

Here's a video where I select a range, the second audio track gets highlighted and I can't select the first one, not trying to select multiple tracks, just the other one...

In Gloucester, the only way that I can select multiple tracks is by "Ctrl" + ","

I just tested with Platinum x64 and Windows 7 64. Works exactly as expected here, with different tracks, ctrl-clicking, deselecting, moving the timeline and trying again, etc.
