Hi guys, I seen the video for the new start page and there is mention of a new mastering template. I was wondering if there any images anywhere, I have searched but to no avail.
Cheers,
Andrew

In Feedback Loop, Features and Ideas, we were posting about what we wanted. Maybe this could help at least show what's been read by The Bakers: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Mastering-in-Sonar-m3192468.aspx#3251365
Not to say their ideas won't supersede ours, or that we should expect any exact implementations of these ideas, I feel safe to say surely it's had some influence. If you have mixing and mastering workflows all in one suite, that could be a strong step ahead of the competition in features and cost. But we'll see what comes out. I'm excited.

I don't suppose any of the suggestions for a mastering template was to  include a loudness meter by any chance?

In the previous thread (and others) there have been requests/suggestions for more robust metering options in general.

I think it ultimately comes down to how Cakewalk develops their software moving forward.  If they elect to make Sonar a one-stop-shop for mixing and mastering (including red book authoring, capabilities of wave editors etc.) I imagine a metering suite would probably be included.

As of right now it's likely just a screenset with some tracks/busses set up so a person can jump right into mastering using Sonar's existing tools (and whatever plugins you have) as opposed to new tools/functionality designed for the mastering process.

IIRC I didn't contribute but I'll be pi$$ed if my ideas are NOT included.

Looks like we get our first peek at the Template. Certainly not what I'd hoped. I use Wavelab because of the experience and workflow, not to mention the valuable large-scale metering and Mastering chain, among other specific-use tools. Plug-ins and editing need to be the forefront of all this. In a Mastering studio, the EQs, Compressors, meters, etc. and DAW editor are all at the forefront of everything. Here, those things are hidden behind clicks, [+] boxes, or simply take a back seat (they're still small). Well, maybe this can evolve over time. I'd like to see the interface change for this vs. tweaking the existing options in the mix console.

Thanks to Cakewalk for listening and working toward what we want, however. I don't want valiant efforts to seem pointless or unappreciated.

It's simply a template for hosting mastering-oriented plug-ins, not a mastering suite by any means. I believe Cakewalk is still digesting all the suggestions about "real" mastering options to determine next steps.
